Sooo... Locking Quick Disconnect (LQD for this post) vs Bouyancy Compensator Quick Disconnects (BCQD for this post).

Availability:
LCD= Industrial hydraulics suppliers, as long as you don't tell them you are going to breath through it.
BCQD= Any dive shop.

Edge: BCQD

Weight:
LCD= Built like a tank.
BCQD= Built for diving.

Compatibilty:
LCD: Compatible with forlifts and other heavy machinery.
BCQD= Compatible with most other diver's gear.

Acceptability:
LCD= Vendor may shit a brick and refuse to sell you one.
BCQD= Dive master may "tsk tsk" and give you a disapproving look, unless he has an integrated Octo/BC Inflator combo, in which you have him/her by the balls/short hairs.

LCD= Huge, heavy, bulky, locking brass fittings. Very masculine.
BCQD= Small shiny chrome thing. Sorta small and faggy looking (by comparison).

Soo, I dunno. Looks like 4 to 2 in favor of the BCQD. And if I can find a locking version... then the LCD only weighs in in terms of mchismo.

My EXO-26 arrived today. I am pretty excited, and can't wait for the next job so I can use it.
